Barça Set to Play Inaugural Fixture at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend
The club confirmed they are set to host at the still-under-construction Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host the Basque side in the Spanish league two and a half years following their departure so building work could begin.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. After final construction, the Camp Nou is due to hold over 104,000 attendees, increasing from the former 99,000. Barça announced completed upgrades featured a renovated tunnel for players along with upgraded changing facilities.
Stadium Testing
The club conducted a public practice inside the stadium in early November. The club said they were hoping for permission from European football’s governing body to host the next European match versus the German side next month at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held in the temporary ground.
