Chiefs Confirm Alleged Abuse Allegations Involving Player the Athlete
The NFL franchise released a comment on Wednesday evening stating they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations circulated in online accounts by a former girlfriend of player Rashee Rice and had been in communication with the NFL.
The team omitted the name of the player by name in their announcement and stated they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name the athlete directly, posted a series of photos on social media that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. She did say the person involved was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has kids with the football player, whom the Chiefs drafted in the 2023 draft.
Police Reports Currently Not on File
No police reports were on file in Overland Park, Kansas where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.
Player's Prior Off-Field Troubles
Rice was absent for the initial part of this NFL campaign due to an NFL suspension for his role in instigating a crash on a Dallas highway that resulted in several individuals injured. Rice was given a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
On the field, he finished the season with 53 receptions for 571 yards and five TDs as the Kansas City finished 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first time in a decade.
