Netflix Casts Ideal Actor for Bon Clay in One Piece Season 3

Baroque Works is poised to make a major impact in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, although the true confrontation won’t unfold until the third season, and a cherished, popular member has now been chosen.

Netflix announced this week that the skilled actor has joined the One Piece season 3 cast and will play Mr. 2. Bon Clay possesses the power to morph into an perfect replica of any person they’ve made contact with with their dominant hand. The actor, who is non-binary and goes by they/them, will depict a rendition of that role re-envisioned as non-binary identifying, as opposed to as a drag queen, in the live-action series, unlike the source material and animated series.

The new cast member will work alongside multiple fresh additions set to bring the group to life, such as head Sir Crocodile, portrayed by the seasoned performer, an emerging star as another operative, and a familiar face, who is also part of the cast as the monarch of the desert kingdom.

Though this character is a key figure of the group, the persona won’t appear until One Piece the third season. Considering the next season expected to adapt the Little Garden arc, this signals a major departure in the timing of the character’s debut, one that could signal further changes to the narrative framework.

Their mix of sharp comedic timing and profound feeling makes them a standout choice for the part. Besides their recent voice performance in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and several accolades for writing and starring in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, highlighting the adaptability they’ll add to one of One Piece’s most celebrated figures.

Netflix's live-action One Piece program is scheduled to come back for its season two on March 10, 2026.
