Palestinian-American Teenager Released Following Nine Months in Israel's Detention

A Palestinian-American youth after completing a nine-month period in imprisonment by Israel without charge was released.
The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim was 15 when he was arrested last February throughout the West Bank territory, while he was vacationing from his Florida home for allegedly throwing stones toward Israeli settlers, claims he consistently denied.
American diplomatic officials expressed satisfaction with the news of Mohammed's release.
Currently aged sixteen, was taken to hospital right after being freed, family members reported.
They said he is pale, underweight, and is suffering from conditions contracted in captivity.
Via family representatives, the youth's uncle expressed the family's "overwhelming sense of relief".
The uncle, Zeyad Kadur described how relatives endured "living a horrific and endless nightmare" throughout the past nine months.
"At this moment, we're concentrating on providing Mohammed with urgent medical care he requires after experiencing mistreatment by authorities and cruel circumstances for months."
The state department announced ongoing to provide consular support to the teenager's relatives.
{"US government authorities has no higher priority than the safety and security of US citizens"," officials stated.
Twenty-seven US lawmakers submitted a formal letter to diplomatic officials and the administration, urging greater action to secure his release.
Mr Ibrahim, with four children who runs an ice cream business from Florida, had earlier stated his son only confessed about rock throwing because the soldiers beat him.
There were no visits or spoken to Mohammed since the arrest, receiving updates exclusively regarding the treatment via legal paperwork.
He stayed without charge at Ofer detention facility in the West Bank.
The facility also contains adult prisoners, featuring prisoners sentenced for major terrorist activities and homicide.
An estimated several hundred young Palestinian detainees being held in Israeli jails, based on prison authority data.
Many have never been charged along with monitoring agencies, and international organizations, report instances of abuse and torture.
Following Mohammed's release, Mr Kadur said relatives would persist in advocating for justice for his cousin their cousin Sayfollah.
The dual national youth according to health authorities died from beating by Israeli settlers during a confrontation in July.
Initially, military authorities reported authorities were looking into accounts of a Palestinian had died.
The two cousins had worked together within the family's frozen treats establishment based in Florida.
No indictments occurred for the cousin's murder.
"We expect the American government to protect our families," Mr Kadur said.
